Curse of The Macumba Witch Doctor
Prop poster design
The Gist
The Macumba project was a very fun one for me.
The final piece was to be one of many prop posters used in a film about Conrad Norman, a fictional B-movie producer, a kindred spirit to the likes of Roger Corman and Lloyd Kaufman. The intent was to design posters that would be era-specific, to be displayed on set to show the breadth and length of Conrad’s career.
The Curse of The Macumba Witch Doctor was meant to be a spooky zombie film in the vein of I Walked With A Zombie, from the 40s and 50s. Nearly every element of the design was hand-rendered then scanned in and compiled into the final layout.
